Veterinarians

Dr. Richard Leeper

Dr. Leeper started working at the Bourbon Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary assistant while he was in high school. He went on to graduate from Purdue University in 1976. Dr Leeper purchased the clinic from Dr. Ed Sommers in 1983. Dr. Leeper spends most of his time on farm calls. When not at the clinic, he works on his beef farm in Argos.

Dr. John Komorowski

​Dr. Komorowski (or Dr. K) graduated from Michigan State University in 1993 and started working at the Bourbon Veterinary Hospital soon after. Dr. Komorowski primarily works on companion animals but also takes emergency farm calls. He enjoys gardening and spending time with his family.

Dr. Jessica Collins

Dr. Collins grew up in La Porte, Indiana on a small farm. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2016, and works with both large animals and companion animals on a routine basis. Dr. Collins raises pygmy goats, ducks, chickens, and pheasants. She enjoys showing them when time allows. She remains actively involved with 4-H. She now has a little boy, Zachary, who keeps her busy.

Carre - (Left) Carre has been working at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital since 2013. She graduated from Brown Mackie College's veterinary technician program. Her first love is her son followed closely by her Boston Terrier, Kip.

​

Brittany - (Far Right) Brittany has worked at the Bourbon Veterinary Hospital since 2005 when she was in high school. She left to attend the International Business College of Fort Wayne for training as a veterinary technician before returning to the Bourbon Veterinary Clinic. When Brittany is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and daughter.

Christy (RVT) - (2nd from left) Christy graduated from Purdue University's Veterinary Technology program in 2017 and is a certified fear free professional.  She worked at a mixed animal clinic in Lebanon, IN before starting at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital in 2019.  She grew up raising cattle and goats and enjoys spending time with her dog Levi, working with livestock, and being active in 4-H and Indiana Young Farmers.

Sarah (RVT) - (2nd from right) Sarah graduated from Purdue University's Veterinary Technology program in 2020.  While in school, she worked in the small animal surgery department.  Sarah started working at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital in August of 2020.  When Sarah is not working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband.

Tracey (LVT) - (Not Shown) Tracey graduated from Purdue University in 1981 as a licensed veterinary technician. Tracey has worked part-time on and off at at the Bourbon Veterinary Hospital since 2004. She also taught veterinary technician students at Brown Mackey College for 5 years until the school closed. Now she teaches part-time through Ancilla's Veterinary Technology program.  Tracey especially enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Office Staff

Sam - (Right) Sam started working at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital in January of 2021.  She graduated from Ancilla with a degree in Animal Sciences in 2020 and previously worked at a large dairy managing the calf barn.  She grew up on a small farm, raising and showing livestock at the county fair.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her son and family.

Christina - (Left) Christina started working at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2021.  Christina enjoys spending time with her family and her fur babies.  She also enjoys spending time outside working in her yard or going on a walk.

​

Renae - (Middle) Renae started working at Bourbon Veterinary Hospital in August of 2021.  She grew up on a farm raising and showing livestock.  She graduated from Ancilla with a degree in Animal Sciences in December of 2021.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Oakley, showing cattle, and volunteering with the Marshall County 4-H program.
