Sheep and Goats
Our practice provides preventative and therapeutic services for sheep and goat producers including:

Ultrasound-guided pregnancy diagnosis

Fecal egg examinations and deworming recommendations

Disbudding/dehorning and castration

Veterinary Feed Directives (VFDs)

Sick sheep/goat exams and treatments

Lambing/kidding problems (dystocias)
Disbudding/Dehorning
We recommend that disbudding be performed before 2 weeks of age. At our clinic, disbudding is performed under sedation with local nerve blocks and appropriate pain medication. Dehorning can be performed at an older age, but there is a greater risk for infection and the growth of scurs (abnormal horns).
